New Ty Segall Album on Goner

In addition to playing with Sic Alps, RSTB fave Ty Segall will be releasing a new album on Memphis' great Goner Records. Lemons will be out July 14th and you can check out a track below.

From the label:

Burying '60s sing-alongs and dance crazes with waves of reverb and giddy thud, Ty Segall has carved out his own shelf in the SF neo-psych garage alongside SF compatriots and collaborators Sic Alps and Thee Oh Sees. After shattering the Bay Area underground as a frantic one-man band that the local crowd and press couldn't get enough of, Segall has now given up the solo act for a three piece that destroys sonic and melodic boundaries with manic glee. The new live setup is a better reflection of his studio work, which generally starts with his one-man-band setup and builds from there. Exploring the space between Cro-Magnon fuzz and atmospheric acoustic psych, Lemons is the natural next step after his celebrated self-titled 2008 debut on Castle Face.

Gorgeous Johnny

The Skygreen Leopards have posted a couple of tracks from their upcoming record for Jagjaguwar entitled Gorgeous Johnny (out 7/21). Glenn had described GJ to me as - "It's definitely our most "pop" record. We wanted it to sound like Liberty Belle & the Black Diamond Express or Loaded. It's nowhere near those! But i like it." From the sound of these early tracks its definitely a high caliber Skygreen release and just in time too as summer is the perfect time for Skygreen Leopards. Check out the new tracks HERE.

New Jescos Tracks

The first couple of tracks to emerge from The Jescos, the new rock oriented project from James Jackson Toth, have been put up on their myspace. The tracks were recorded at Grand Palace with a first 7" scheduled to appear on People in a Position to Know and an album to follow shortly after. Pretty great stuff, you can check out the tracks: HERE
